Introduction

COVID -19 is a challenging situation for everyone. Students and teachers are dependent on technology to manage their daily work. There are many pros and cons of the current situation.

Pros:  Firstly, students have the liberty to complete their tasks or work at their own pace. Secondly, since teachers and students are working from their houses it saves fuel, gas, and other natural resources, also, it saves a lot of money. Thirdly, people are getting well versed in technology, which is definitely a benefit.

Cons: Covid19 has reversed our lives. The major challenge which everyone is facing is with respect to dealing solely with technology for the majority of tasks increasing their dependency on technology. However, developing countries are not well equipped with updated technology. Because of this, it is hard to develop a teacher-student relationship. It is a well-known fact that experiential learning allows students to learn and retain things for a longer time, which is, unfortunately missing in online learning. It is tough to educate students with special needs and they are left out from the system. Besides, collaborative work is quite difficult, as it is not possible to call each team-mate at the same time. For instance, in this course, working on a group project became challenging as I couldn’t meet my groupmates face to face. I was not able to connect well with my friends and understand their opinions. However, technology did come to our rescue. We used zoom calls to share our ideas and thoughts. Also, online learning has boosted anxiety and stress levels of students because working with technology, constantly staring at the screens of the computers can be troublesome, which often leads to invoking mental trauma, boredom, strain in the eyes, as well as depression amongst them. Many of my friends are complaining about not being able to cope up with the whole online format. Moreover, students with limited technical knowledge are struggling to a great extent which makes doing assignments and other work even more frustrating.

In my opinion, due to COVID-19 this huge online learning experiment that is conducted worldwide has ameliorated our learnings, made us adaptive and flexible as well as improved our technological competencies. In contrast, online learning can never replace the place of schools and universities as virtual learning highly lack the essence of face to face learning. Teacher-student relationship accelerate learning in students and it difficult to prosper this bond virtually
