Introduction
Due to COVID-19 there is a great shift of education from face to face to remote learning. Even in developing countries where technology is not used as much used in developed countries. Developing countries do not have access to high speed internet in rural areas and teachers and students do not have computers or laptops to teach and learn, and they are using their mobile phones. The previous school in which I was teaching, teachers told me they are using mobile phones for teaching, and it is difficult to teach using WhatsApp or other related apps with. It is tough for developing countries to provide education remotely due to lack of resources and population size.
Developed countries can manage to teach through online learning because they already have required resources and those who don’t have, they can provide it. Developed countries are also facing difficulties in switching to remote learning, but if we compare with other countries then it is OK.
I think in coming years, more technology would be used for teaching and learning. AR, VR and personal assistants would take the place of teachers, if these tools would be inculcated in education then their will be huge change the way the instructions are delivered right now. But still the guidance would be required in every step-in teaching and learning process, so teachers will play that part in education.
Hi Nav,
Thanks for your response.
I agree with your viewpoint that education should be a blend of online as well as face to face classes. COVID 19 has changed education dramatically and gives us new hope to teach kids. although technology provides us with innovative ways of teaching which enhances creativity, critical thinking, and engagement but cannot replace teachers’ role in students’ lives.
