Firstly, I would like to talk about my philosophy of education. I think school teachers should use more and more new technologies to foster students’ curiosity abilities and to make them more engaged in learning. Nowadays, the majority of students take a lively interest during their time outside of school and they barely show any personal curiosity during their time in school. Students prefer sharing personal curiosities from their daily lives outside of school as many as they could. (Post, Juliette, & Molen, 2018). There are a few students who are curious about what they learn in class. A lot of students just need to accomplish whatever teachers ask them to do, especially for some boring core subjects such as math or reading. Children mostly reported being curious about the introduction of new lesson books because they want to browse for new and attractive images or they are curious about sudden sounds coming from neighboring classrooms (Post, Juliette, & Molen, 2018). In this case, educators should be focused on students’ interests. For example, aside from textbook, teachers can use some educational applications such as Kahoot, Padlet, Youtube videos or movie clips to transmit the knowledge by connecting with internal and external environment. Secondly, my philosophy of education is related with the Community of Inquiry model, because teachers not only focus on students’ academic performance but also focus on their satisfaction, motivation or collaboration within a course. In my opinion, teachers should have awareness of online teaching strategies to foster their students’ curiosity and creativity at the intersection of social, cognitive and teaching presence.
