Being a teacher (specifically a media arts) teacher I took a view of how can I bring what I am learning in the classroom.
What resonated with me:
- Learning theories
- Fippa
- Open educational resources.
(I feel I have been able to take something from every resource, but these were common threads in all of my projects)
Over the years I have learned a variety of different learning theories, but these seem to have a little twist on what I have learned before. I always find these theories interesting as you usually put your self in one of the boxes. I found I was trying to incorporate every theory in my projects so that I can be a more well-rounded teacher but also give my students a better chance to learn in their desired environment.
Being in the school district I knew about fippa, but like I feel like I kind of glossed over it. Like I knew it existed, and I just hoped that I was following it properly. This class helped me find out how to appropriately assess apps and learning tools when teaching the kids, and how important it is to find out beforehand what the students are comfortable with.
I think the most important tool I will take out of this class is all of the open educational resources you have given us, and how we have learned about it. There are so many options and cool new learning tools to engage my students. I have now used loom a few times and I am working on a few of the other apps Mr. Lamb recommended.
Overall I want to thank you and the class community for all of the help and sharing we have had in these strange times. There was a clear direction and leadership from the instructor, which I really appreciate. Thank you again for the learning opportunity you have given me.
Hello Kirk,
It’s great that you try to combine all the theories you learned with. You must be a good teacher!
I’m so glad that I became a classmate with you! Thank you!
Helo Krik, thanks for sharing your views. I agree with you that we learned about open sources and also fippa. I didn’t know about this and also explore more in technology. I also learn how can we connect the apps and tools with learning theories.
Thanks and regards
