Six weeks passed very quickly, but we also learned very rich content. First of all, thank you all very much.

After learning, I found that some of those theories and technology tools have been used in my teaching and learning, but I did not know the clear definition and content. I also found that many of these theories are also the test sites for the Chinese teacher qualification examination outline. It is interesting.

The one I’m interested is F-shaped pattern and other scanning patterns. People need to follow the natural principles rather than against them. Thus, even if we don’t know the reason for the F-shaped pattern so far, as educators we should “do the work for the users instead of forcing them to exert effort and take bad shortcuts. Prioritize and format text to direct users to what you want them to see, and to what you know they want to see”.

Therefore, teachers should use titles and subtitles reset on each slide when making teaching materials, like PPT, and use bold and larger font size to make them look more obvious than other text. Besides, teachers can simplify the number of words on each slide to ensure that the key information is seen by students at the first time. When arranging assignments, they should be listed from highest to lowest importance. When compiling textbooks, teachers should also visualize and highlight group small amounts of related content highlighted with different borders or backgrounds.

All of these method are to follow the principle of human eye-tracking. It can help students find and remember important knowledge points and help them focus more in the classroom.

The other thing I’m interested in is Universal design for learning (UDL). Adults like like to have choices, so do children so that I think UDL can be used in every level learning. As educators, the one thing need to be considered. That is how to judge each student on a fair standard and how to make diversity to continue in the classroom when students choose different ways of expression.
