Nowadays, the expectations of learners in 21st century change with a rapid speed which accelerate the revolution of pedagogies. In order to keep pace with the latest educational and technological development, instructors are asked to equip with all kinds of techniques, such as having a good knowledge of the design of physical class or online class regarding students’ skills well (Mahmor&Sailin, 2018; Kurt et al., 2019). This course really gave me an assistant to a deep and comprehensive understanding in educational technology, which will help me a lot in my future learning and teaching process.

The first thing I am expressed most is FIPPA. I haven’t heard this policy before I was given the chance to get familiar with that. Before I went through FIPPA, I will not consider a lot about student data, secure and privacy. But I start thinking about whether it aligns with FIPPA law. Students are the center of classroom. When teachers choose some applications which align with FIPPA, it is beneficial for students to develop their awareness of protecting their personal and identifiable information. In the future, I believe that technology will be more and more important in classroom. It’s essential to assist students getting familiar with the technology and the importance of protecting their personal and identifiable information. They might implement these principals into their daily life when they are using some applications like facebook.

The second thing I am particularly interested is the cultural considerations especially how the culture impacts on the design of educational technology. For example, when students are using an educational technology in classroom, students from different cultures might hold various ideas about it. It influences how much contents and knowledge students obtained from the class. In other words, students are more comfortable with something that they are familiar to. Online classes will become more and more popular in the global context. Students and teachers, both of them are asked to have a comprehensive and global knowledge such as different languages. As a teacher, I might have students from different cultures as well. I might have some cultural considerations when I design my classes, which will help students understand the class better.

Through this class, I got a lot of opportunities to know and explore the new applications from teacher, guest speakers and classmates. Furthermore, I learned to choose an educational technology in a comprehensive view. I will consider that whether it aligns with FIPPA and whether some students form different cultures feel uncomfortable in my teaching process. I really enjoyed this class particularly it motivated to explore more new educational technologies. I really enjoyed this class.
